Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also sings. She is the youngest woman and also the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is among India's most promising stars on the sitar. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born London in 1982. During her first years she split in London New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show in New Delhi took place. At the age of 13, she finished her high school studies in Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still a young woman, however she's got an amazing career in music and performance. Her father was with her to numerous performances over some time. She released her debut solo album Anourag in 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. She's performed in all major venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't just a musician. In 2002 she published a book entitled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shakar's professional career will only continue to grow and grow. We are looking forward to seeing many new things from her. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent the majority of her childhood in London and Delhi after which she moved to California in the state where she attended high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration she made her debut as a sitar player in front of an audience at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Anoushka's father toured around across the world with her and she gained many experiences. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was presented an award by the British Parliament in recognition of being the top Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and youngest recipient of this prize.
