Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of the eyewitness memory of children and using child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer, has won numerous prizes and grants. She has offered consulting on research and policy to numerous agencies and government departments around the globe. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
